GPE is an approved packager for GEA screw compressors. These screw compressors are oil-injected twin shaft rotary positive displacement machines. They are available for single stage operation and suitable for various critical gas applications. The compressor element is manufactured at the Grasso plant in Berlin, Germany and the packaging is done at our production unit in Pune which is EIL approved for modularization.
Rotary Screw Compressors are very cost-effective for handling high volumes of gas in field gathering, vapor recovery, flash gas recovery, coke oven gas and raw biogas handling and several other applications. They are also most suitable for dirty gases and fluctuating pressures. The compressors generally run directly with an electric motor via a flexible coupling. Our screw compressor package range currently consists of 10 compressor frames, from the M and LT series. These compressor frames can handle suction volumes from 375 to 1750 m³/h and maximum discharge pressure up to 52 bar g.
Low maintenance and high reliability are inherent with rotary screws because they have few moving parts. There are no valves, rings or packing to wear out or cause loss of efficiency. Smooth operation results from no unbalanced forces and no pressure pulsation. Special foundations are not necessary and there are no piping vibrations from pressure pulsation.
Compressor Design Range
The minimum suction temperature for these compressors is -60°C. The maximum discharge temperature for these compressors is 120°C.
Key Features
- Material of Construction - The housings for operating pressures up to 28 bar are made of laminar grey cast iron. The housings for operating pressures up to 52 bar and higher are made of spheroidal cast iron. Compressors with special requirements in accordance with API 619 are available with a cast steel housing.
- Position indication – For position indication of the hydraulic systems of the capacity control and the Vi adjustment, a hermetic position sensor is used that provides an output signal between 4 and 20 mA.
- Control – PLC based unit control panel for safe area installation in electrical control room. Optional NFPA compliant purge panel for hazardous area installation in field.
- Operational Benefits - These compressor packages are energy efficient and offer long service life even while handling dirty and corrosive gas applications. They are reliable, safe and have a patented vibration protection system, preventing pulsations in part load at high pressure ratios The screw elements come with high-performance bearings and hydraulic axial force compensation for enhanced durability
- High-efficiency rotors - Compact and stiff design
- Mechanical shaft seal - - High-performance design and materials - Easy access for servicing - Suction-end mounted for extended service lifetime
- Axial bearings - Easy and quick access from non-drive end - Field-replaceable - Unloaded by balance piston, for long lifetime One central oil connection - Optional connection at male or female rotor side - No oil pump required in most cases - Adjustable oil injection
- Integrated suction strainer - Compact design for easy packaging
- Pressure-activated suction check valve - Minimized pressure drop - No spring, no valve chattering
- Gas pulsation protection - Reduced gas pulsation and vibration at low part loads
- Flanged coupling casing - Less expensive packaging - Service-friendly coupling - No alignment on the package required
- Maintenance – Easy to maintain with quick replacement of thrust bearings and shaft seals, wherein no dismantling of the compressor or motor is required
