Multi-cyclone Separator

The Multi-cyclone separators contain multiple small cyclone units. The dirty gas enters the separator tangentially through a port which imparts high centrifugal force. This throws the solid and liquid particles against the wall of the cyclone. The clean gas changes direction and flows upwards and particulates and waterfall downwards, thus getting separated from the gas. The capacity per cyclone is 40 m3/hr or 80 m3/hr.

Efficiency: 100% (at 8 µ)
Turn down: 25%

Demister Separator

Mostly used with wash towers / other process vessels, where process flow governs the diameter. These separators are fitted with a mist pad – a fabricated pad made from symmetrical interlocking loops of knitted metal wire or plastic monofilament. These pads have high free volume and large impingement area. When the gas passes through this pad, the liquid having higher inertia gets stuck to the large wire surface. As more droplets collect, they coalesce and grow in size and fall down under gravity. The overhead product is pure gas with virtually no aerosols.

Turn down: 25%

Vane Separator

The gas passes through a series of angled vanes that impart inertial forces on the remaining liquid droplets. The droplets strike the vane and are removed from the flow stream by gravity. This type of separator is preferred when the vessel size is governed by size of the mist eliminator itself and not the process conditions. Also preferred for gases containing solid particulates, viscous and sticky liquids or in cases where large slugs of liquid occur.

Turn down: 25%
